Catholic schools benefit all year long from the religious guidance, prayers and support parishes provide. Many parishes join in the National Catholic Schools Week celebration by devoting a Mass to Catholic education.
Parents, guardians and other family members play a vital role in Catholic education. Not only do they volunteer at the school, they instill values and expectations for academic excellence in their children at home.
On this day, schools will honor teachers and principals as well as administrators and staff who support them in their work and thank those who provide volunteer service.
A central aspect of Catholic education is learning the importance of service to others. When students take part in service activities they demonstrate the values and faith gained through Catholic education.
Schools celebrate students during National Catholic Schools Week by planning enjoyable and meaningful activities for them and recognizing their accomplishments.
Saint Nicholas will be visiting the All School Mass and school classrooms this Friday, December 3, 2021. Mass (8:30 a.m.) will be recorded and you are also invited to attend. Masks are required.
Please join us for our Thanksgiving, Advent, and Christmas Celebrations at St. Lawrence and St. Mary Churches. This time of year is an exciting time as people are bustling from store to store, some doing their last-minute shopping while others might be just simply trying to go to work, or at least arrive home safely. We often sing the song “Silent Night” as one of the Christmas Carols of the season, and I think one of the reasons it is such a popular song is that it's a song that is in such stark contrast to the reality of the season. It is important for us to remember that the evening Christ was born was truly a “silent night” until the angels lit up the evening sky with the announcement that would change the world from that point on.

It is with great joy that St. Mary School is happy to announce we have a new Principal! Mrs. Maria Pryor will assume the leadership of St. Mary, July 1, 2021. Maria is a 1992 graduate of St. Mary and a member of St. Mary Parish. She is presently a senior faculty member with 11 years of teaching experience at our school. She has been teaching 5th & 6th Grades for the past seven years.
Maria Pryor was nominated for doing a fantastic job of keeping kids engaged and on track while juggling dual grades. The nomination also noted how she pushes the limits of the students and encouraging them to be more than they themselves believe they are capable.
