Are you seeking to rediscover your friendship with Jesus? Haven't been to Mass in a while and wondering where to start? Start by getting to know Jesus again through prayer. It doesn't matter how long it's been since you have been to Mass. You are always invited to encounter Jesus in the Mass.
"Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.'" - John 6:35
One of the most joyous times in a Catholic’s faith journey is receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time. Children are especially excited to receive their First Holy Communion as they have seen their family members receiving this sacrament at Mass and are eager to receive the “bread and wine.”
Children usually prepare for First Holy Communion during second grade, after having already received a year of religious education. Children wishing to receive First Eucharist must be attending weekend Masses in our parish and St. Mary Catholic School, the Parish School of Religion or an approved home-school program. They also participate in the parish’s First Holy Communion preparation program.
Our parish celebrates First Holy Communion each year during the Easter season. Children may receive First Holy Communion with the parish’s “class” or during another Mass in our parish.
