It is with great joy that St. Mary School is happy to announce we have a new Principal! Mrs. Maria Pryor will assume the leadership of St. Mary, July 1, 2021. Maria is a 1992 graduate of St. Mary and a member of St. Mary Parish. She is presently a senior faculty member with 11 years of teaching experience at our school. She has been teaching 5th & 6th Grades for the past seven years. Maria is looking forward to beginning her journey as a Principal. "I look forward to building on the many strengths of our wonderful school and parish environment while growing our school. Speaking firsthand as an alumna and a long-term parent, there isn't a better grade school in this area with the best group of teachers," commented Maria. She graduated from Centralia High School and received an Associate Degree from Kaskaskia College. She attended SIU, Edwardsville, and received her Bachelor's Degree. In 2013 she was awarded her Master in Education. Maria has been married to Kevin for nineteen years, and they have three sons. William is seventeen and will begin at Mizzou School of Engineering in the fall, Myles is sixteen and a student at Christ Our Rock High School, and Nolan is twelve and is finishing up his 7th-grade year at St. Mary. "All three of my children attended St. Mary from preschool through 8th grade. I couldn't have chosen a better school to teach them a good foundation of faith, morals, and education which has helped them excel at the high school level." St. Mary has been a pillar of Christian education in Centralia for over one hundred years. Consistently our alumni are ranked among the top of their class in High School and College. "I am delighted that Maria has accepted to become Principal at St. Mary School. When I first met her in 2019, there was no doubt her heart and soul was connected to St. Mary. Her relationship with the faculty and staff will only contribute to great things at St. Mary," commented Father Steve. Please join St. Mary Parish Family as we are welcoming Maria as Principal of St. Mary School.
